TechnoRogue on SmugMug

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

Although I like the WordPress blog engine, I’m not 100% thrilled with how it handles photos. It’s great for a pic here and there, with text around it, but if you’re just trying to show a bunch of pictures, I’m not sure it’s the best option. Granted, I may just not know what I’m doing. So in order to share the images I have captured and will capture, I decided to join the SmugMug 14-day trial.

So far, I’m really liking the interface and how it displays the photos. I’ll most likely be signing up for a full account soon (probably after I finish posting this). So if you want to see more pics from ComicCon 2010, be sure to go to http://technorogue3825.smugmug.com for your viewing pleasure. I’ll be posting more pics of ComicCon 2010 soon, too! Enjoy and thank you.

A Picture A Day

Monday, March 1st, 2010

One of my more recent interests has been photography. I’ve always liked it, but I am now really getting into it thanks to a wedding I helped shoot with my girlfriend (you can follow her at www.fotozenphotography.com, and @fotozen). I didn’t think I would have so much fun spending 9 hours taking pictures, but it was a great experience! So a few days after the wedding, I went out and bought a better camera since I wanted more control over various settings. So I picked up a Nikon D3000 for just under $500. Great price, great camera.

I’ve been learning the camera more, as well as general photography. As we all know, practice makes perfect, so I’ve been taking pictures as frequently as I can. One way to help me with that is the 365project.org site, where you post a picture every day. This allows you to not only see 1 year of your life in picture review, but you’ll also get more practice taking pictures, and see how your skills and talents have progressed over a year. I’m only 10+ days into it, but so far, so good. You can follow my picture progress at www.365project.org/technorogue3825. Please feel free to check it out and leave a comment there, or here, or on Twitter. Thanks for stopping by!
